SYMPNOSIS
After the loss of the Cuban colony, the Spanish army returns to Spain defeated and installed in the homes of citizens Castilians. One of the soldiers of the Second Company of Lucena, Juanito Ventolera, is lodged at the apothecary Don’s house Socrates Galindo.
On the way to his lodging, he comes across the El Tapadillo brothel of the Carmelitana. Juanito falls in love with Ernestina, the Daifa. She, captivated by the lips and cheek of the soldier, tells her sad story: she got pregnant and confessed she threw her father out on the street and was forced to prostitute herself to survive. The Apothecary, father of the Daifa, dies suddenly receive a letter of help from your daughter. Before the death of his Skipper, Juanito sees the opportunity to steal the gala suit with the one that is buried to impress the Daifa. Juanito Ventolera’s hybris triggers the tragedy.
